I am the 4th generation Mercure in the family insurance agency. I started working in the agency at the age of 17. I obtained my agent licenses in 1964. I graduated from the University of Toledo in 1966. I have been active in the insurance industry and community. I have attended numerous insurance schools and classes over the years. I have been active in the Agents Association on a local level and was a member of the Board of Directors for the state association. I served and helped the citizens of the Rockwood area in numerous ways. I am a member of the fire department since 1973 and have been chief since 1997. I served on many commissions in the City of Rockwood. I am an active member of St Mary’s Church where I have served on many parish and school committees and boards. I have been married to my wife Lorraine for over 40 years. We have four children and 13 grandchildren. We enjoy going to the events of the grandchildren. |
Daniel M Mercure I am the 5th generation Mercure in the family insurance agency. I started working at the agency at the age of 14 and obtained my agent licenses while attending college where I concentrated my studies in insurance. I take the trust our insured place in us very seriously and want to continue the superior service the agency has provided since 1890. I have learned from my father the importance of community and industry involvement. I’ve been involved with Rotary, Jaycees and the Rockwood Fire Department. I am a Captain on the department in charge of EMS. I teach CPR and work with the local schools in fire prevention. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, and an officer in the Wayne County Independent Insurance Agents Association. Golf is a passion of mine. I have coached high school golf for over 19 years and currently coach the Riverview High School boy’s golf team. I have been involved with the Big I National Championship for 20 years. I am currently the chair of the Michigan state committee and a member of the Big I National Committee. Golf is a great lifelong sport that promotes exercise, sportsmanship and is a nice way to meet many different people. I have four kids that enjoy spending time with them either playing sports or watching them compete. The love in my life has three boys so we are very active with seven kids. |

Suzanne, also a life-long Downriver resident, has been with The Mercure Agency since 1995. She followed in her mother’s footsteps, Nancy Fisher, who served our customers well for 30 years. She strives to give the same friendly and personable customer service to our customers, just like her mom did. The best part of her job is meeting new clients and turning them into friends. Suzanne has a daughter, Rebecca. They spend their special time together going to Josh Gracin concerts and working with their Arabian mare. In addition to the horse, they have a yellow lab, three cats, two birds, one fish, 10 chickens and 5 rabbits, give or take a few on any given day. |

Darlene Riling, CISR Darlene grew up in Hamtramck and moved Downriver when she married her husband, Gary, in 1981. Dar has over 25 years of experience working in insurance. She has spent the last six years providing our customers with friendly, reliable service. Darlene’s strong insurance background has given her great knowledge and insight. She uses these valuable resources to help our customers with any problems they might encounter. You can count on Dar to give you a thorough review of your insurance needs. Darlene and Gary have one daughter, Melissa, who is a 5th Grade Teacher. Gary is employed with Link tool and Manufacturing. Darlene enjoys spending her free time with her many friends, family and being involved in church activities. She enjoys monthly bible Share Group with her church family and looks forward to helping with their Christ Net mission again. Gary and Dar have two pampered cats, Pepper and Potato. |
